Modify Api security on an user group multiple times

Based on the PMR I raised regarding api permission I got to know that the below are the steps to enable api security on an user group.

Got this from PMR*********

In order to modify the API permissions of a user group, you can follow these steps:

-Navigate to the user group section from the Application Console (Application Platform->Security->Groups)

-Single click on the user group you wish to modify

-In the top right corner, select Save As...

-Give the group a new Group ID

-Click Save in the top right corner

-API Security permissions will now be able to be modified.

When the user group is saved, the user group will now have the specified permissions. The permissions can be further modified by repeating the same process.

*****************

Looks like in order to change the permission we have to again do a save as and copy the same data to a new user group and add additional permissions required. This would lead to multiple new user group creation which we would not prefer and it would be easy if the user group name is same as we are in still development phase and the requirements keep on changing. Please let me know if this can be done.
